Fandango secures contract for JHU’s 2004 Research for Life
BALTIMORE, MD - November 8, 2003 -- Fandango Special Events is proud to announce that it has secured a contract for a year-long campaign with The Division of Pediatric Oncology at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins and Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Friends (POF). The 2004 campaign will include a premier movie screening, a black tie gala, and a children's fashion show, all conceptualized and developed around the works of Dr. Seuss.
Inspiration for incorporating the essence of Dr, Seuss' work throughout the Hopkins events for 2004 came from Kim Bray, Senior Account Executive with Fandango Special Events. "In developing this comprehensive Event Campaign, my goal was to tie the theme for the annual black-tie gala into some upcoming family-oriented events. As soon as I saw the trailer for the upcoming "Cat in the Hat" movie, I knew it was a perfect match!"
"I started doing some research and found out it was the 100th birthday of Dr. Seuss, so I contacted Universal Studios about a screening. They were very receptive." Bray added, "Volvo is our main sponsor. [Volvo] is a company that believes strongly in family and safety and their tag line is Volvo for Life. I thought that a nice tie-in would be to name the campaign, Research for Life."
The first event of the 2004 campaign is a special screening of Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, at The Senator Theatre on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. The next event will be the Rhyme and Reason Gala on January 24th, 2004 at the Pikesville Armory. Subsequent events include a children's fashion show, at a date and site yet to be determined, Tickets for these events, as they become available, can be purchased at www.missiontix.com, or by calling 443-287-3534.
"We are thrilled to be working with Hopkins, and having all the elements of fundraising, PR and marketing, and event design work together in synergy. What an incredible impact!" says Bray.
The Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Program is a world leader, standing at the forefront of childhood cancer research and care.
