Fandango hired to orchestrate ceremonies for U.S. Flag Fleet
High-ranking military, defense, and maritime officials attend event at Port of Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD—October 14, 2005—Fandango Special Events, the region's fastest growing events company, was recently hired by American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) to orchestrate September 29th ceremonies marking the expansion of its U.S. Flag fleet. This is Fandango's second project for ARC.
High-ranking officials from the U.S. military, the U.S. State Department, and the U.S. Department of Defense attended the event, which featured remarks by General Norton Schwartz, Commander of U.S. Transportation Command, among others. Also in attendance were regional and national maritime community representatives and officials with the Maryland Port Authority.
During the innovative ceremonies, "godmothers" renamed each of the three vessels, the COURAGE, the HONOR, and the INTEGRITY, to represent their inclusion in ARC's growing U.S. Flag fleet. These vessels can carry the full range of government, military, and commercial cargo and, with heavy lift capabilities of 200 tons, over height of 21 feet, and over width of 40 feet, are among the largest and most versatile cargo vessels at sea today.
The only U.S. Flag "Ro-Ro" liner carrier operating in the U.S. International Trades, ARC provides "Ro-Ro" and break bulk ocean carriage to serve the requirements of the U.S. Transportation Command, Military Transportation Management Command, Department of Defense, Department of State, Maritime Administration, and other government agencies and commercial businesses.
