Crowds of 50,000+ attend The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Israel @ 60 event on Nat'l Mall.
WASHINGTON D.C.—June 1, 2008—Fandango Productions, the region's leading events management company was hired by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington to manage production for the Israel @ 60 anniversary festival on the National Mall.
The festival featured nationally recognized entertainers, including singer-songwriter Regina Spektor, Israeli rock band Mashina, actor Mandy Patinkin and a select cast of characters from both the US and Israeli versions of Sesame Street. In addition to the entertainment, the festival also featured interactive pavilion tents that immersed festivalgoers completely in Israeli arts, culture, technology, geography and history, providing a complete and encompassing picture of the entire Israel “experience”.
From technical production and staging, to talent management, concessions, waste disposal, recycling, security and permitting, Fandango handled all of the logistics involved with throwing an event of this scale on our Nations Mall. Throughout the entire pre-event process, Fandango left no detail unturned, lending their expertise through: Site Surveys, Logistical Maps, Floor Plans, 3D Renderings, Fly-Through Animations, Contingency Plans, etc. On game day, the day of event production was managed by a combined team of over 25 Fandango event producers, 75 stage hands, and over 1,000 volunteers.
In all, the event was a tremendous success, overshooting the Federation’s best hopes for attendance by over 30,000 people. In a letter written to Fandango at the conclusion of the event, Eileen Frazier, COO for the Federation stated:
