Artist (Includes Painters/Sculptors)

Art Department Supervisor

Supervises

N/A

Primary Accountability

Produce and maintain props, signs, and décor for events, internal and external.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Production of all new props, signs, dancefloors
  • Refinish and restore existing props, signs, and decor
  • Quality Control – Inspect everything for correct spelling, sizes, and quantities.

Secondary Functions

If delegated, assists with compiling project bids and new prop design Help Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of department.

Other duties as assigned.

Interacts With:

Art Department Supervisor, Production Manager, Account Executives, Supervisors, Managers, and Staff Members.

Required Education

BFA; may be waived for equivalent work experience in theatre, or film/television production, event production; or if currently pursuing BFA

Required Experience

Two (2) years experience in scenic or theatrical environment

Other Requirements

  • Theatrical painting and faux finishing skills
  • Excellent representational painting & drawing skills
  • Basic carpentry and jigsaw skills preferred

Required Skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable and Committed to quality
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, sometimes with short lead times
