Johns Hopkins introduced its first new medical education center in 25 years, the "Anne and Mike Armstrong Medical Education Building" at a dedication ceremony on October 24, 2009. The ceremony was a night of celebration that brought together professionals in the medical education field along with donors and supporters of the new building.
Fandango was faced with the challenge of creating a memorable and impressive event appropriate for the introduction of one of the most sophisticated education centers in the world. The new state-of-the-art building offers innovative learning space that incorporates the latest digital and virtual-reality technology.
The evening included a formal dedication ceremony, followed by a tour of the building and a reception. Fandango designed a 3-D moving graphic display that was projected on the walls of the main hall as guests arrived. The ceremony began with a performance by the acapella group, "Note-A-Cords", followed by the evening's speakers and recognition of Anne and Mike Armstrong's generous donation. A coordinated light and sound show marked the end of the ceremony.
The advanced technology displayed during the event set the tone for the opening of one of the most innovative education buildings in the world. This large production was executed without a hitch because of Fandango's impeccable attention to detail and their ability to capture the excitement of the occasion. In the end, it was an incredible way to celebrate the opening of the state-of-the-art building and thank the Armstrong's and all of the donors for their support.
