Event Profiles Hyatt Regency “Sizzling Style”

Model dressed as sushi

The Product: The newly renovated Ballroom, coupled with a brand new Chef and Menu.

The Challenge: To showcase The Product to current and prospective clients within the framework of an innovative and memorable event.

Fandango rose to the challenge by creating what is now one of our Signature Events, "Sizzling Style." A runway stage was installed in the ballroom. Costumes were designed to represent different food items on the menu (a la "Sushi," pictured at right, complete with chopsticks, ginger and wasabi.) The models walked the runway, accompanied by selected music, as an announcer described the menu item.

"Maize" in a form-fitting yellow spandex sheath with a green velvet coat ("shucked" during the walk down the runway) was definitely a crowd favorite.

The event also showcased the staff of the Hyatt. A set of Hyatt servers, dressed in black and white tuxedos, followed closely behind each model. As the music ended, the servers stepped off the runway and into the crowd to serve.

Warhol-like image of Marylin Monroe

Placed throughout the room was interactive décor for the food station and bar. A trio of models "shook" bar concoctions at the Shake 'Em Up bar, while a pastry artist decorated a model's evening gown with scrolls and swirls of icing. A Warhol image of Marilyn Monroe was recreated during the event with thousands of black olives, maraschino cherries, lemons and limes—toothpicked to an oversized canvas.

The "Sizzling Style" event showcased not only Fandango's imaginative concepts, but also our production capabilities. The show was ours, start to finish. We called the show, cueing every performer and presenter and coordinating all lighting and A/V. In addition, we designed and fabricated the stage sets, décor and costumes. A truly memorable evening.
